Hanukkah is not one of the appointed times of our God, however, it is firmly rooted in the rich soil of the Biblical text. It is the ancient story of lawlessness, judgment, and deliverance through perseverance. Hanukkah begins in Daniel and is fulfilled in the record of the Book of the Maccabees as well as is referenced in the Gospels.

Even Jesus took the time to travel (in the winter) to Jerusalem to reveal Himself as the long-awaited Messiah during this national festival.
