God Dwells Within Us

The early church knew this and, though it was later displaced with the syncretized holiday of Christmas, this biblical holy week, known simply as Tabernacles, has much to teach us about the dwelling presence of God and the incarnation of the Messiah. The Eternal Son of God came and took up a human tabernacle of flesh and blood in order to dwell with us! His name is Immanuel, God with us, in human flesh and blood! Hark! the herald angels sing, "Glory to the newborn King"! Join us as we explore the biblical setting and symbols of the birth of Jesus – God with us!

Yom Kippur and the Great White Throne Judgment

Concerning the Day of Atonement, Moses said, “Atonement will be made for you on this day to cleanse you, and you will be clean from all your sins before the Lord” (Lev 16:30). For the believer, this is gospel – good news! For the one who rejects this gracious offer, it will be a terrifying day to say the least! As with all the Holydays there is a past initiation with Moses and a past inaugural fulfillment with the first advent of Yeshua to our world nearly 2000 years ago. Paul informs us that there is a future final consummate fulfillment of the Holydays when Yeshua returns to our world the second and final time. Join us we will look at the themes of the Day of the Shofar, the Ten Days of Awe, the Day of Atonement and the Day of Judgement in their final fulfillment when Yeshua returns.

Yom Teruah and the Return of the King

Yom Teruah, also known as the Day of Blowing Shofars, has its inaugural fulfillment in the babe born in Bethlehem becoming King of kings and Lord of lords nearly 2000 years ago. That inaugural fulfillment will be consummated when our King returns to us and begins His earthly millennial reign from Jerusalem. Christian Universalism's main teaching is through Jesus Christ, salvation will eventually be realized for everyone, not just for a chosen group or believers in this life. For some, hell will be what it takes to accept Jesus. After enough suffering in hell’s fires, everyone will eventually give in and believe in Jesus, joining the rest of believers in heaven eternally. This view is hopeful but misguided and heretical. We have already seen how this view violates Scripture. Today we will focus on the nuance of the word “eternal” meaning “without end” and how that relates to hell.

In recent years, the idea of God sending people to hell where they suffer conscience pain and torment forever has been challenged. Rob Bell wrote his influential book, “Love Wins” where he questions whether a loving God would do this. This has highly impacted the Church and has given credibility to Christian Universalism, the idea that all human beings will ultimately be saved and brought into a right relationship with God. Its main teaching is through Jesus Christ, salvation will eventually be realized for everyone, not just for a chosen group or believers in this life. The question for us is, is this Scriptural? The mind can get sick in similar ways to the body. Instead of a virus or bacteria it can be afflicted by things like anxiety, worry, fear, depression, guilt, shame, delusion, etc. These infirmities of the mind left unaddressed will negatively impact our daily lives in ways that can bring confusion, fatigue, misery, and hopelessness. Generational Blessing

The blessings of God are designed for you and your children and your children’s children for a thousand generations. These blessings are conditional on faith and faithfulness. We pass God’s blessings to our children by teaching and modelling for them what it means to trust in the Lord and keep His ways. The true test of parenting is what they believe and how they live when they leave our homes and establish their own homes. The blessings of God are sustained or loss in each successive generation. So, let’s teach our children our Father in heaven’s will, so that they can live successful, prosperous lives amid an evil and fallen world.

Rebels Die Hard

The story of Korah is chalked full of principles related to authority and rebellion. Korah himself becomes a symbol of rebellion, shame, and shocking judgements due to his pride and stubbornness. The cardinal lesson is that rebellion against delegated authority is rebellion against God. The Spirit of Korah is alive and well today. It seeks to lead people to separate and rebel against God’s delegated authorities. God hated it then and hates it now.
