Licensed Outreeach Minister, Penny DeNoble

Penny DeNoble was born December 28, 1962, in New Orleans, LA. After her mother passed away when Penny was 7 years old, she and two older brothers moved to Colorado Springs with their father, and consider herself a native of Colorado. She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1980 and immediately transitioned into college at the University of Northern Colorado as an education major; because she knew at a very young age she wanted to be a teacher. Penny graduated with a BA in Elementary and Special Education in 1985 and a Master’s Degree in Special Education in 1986. She also received a Leadership Development Endorsement in 1995.

Penny received Jesus as her Savior at age 13 and was faithful to serving the Lord up to her introduction to college life. Her faithfulness to the Lord wavered throughout her college years and she completely rebelled upon meeting the man who would eventually become her husband, in 1982. Because they were not able to agree on how to serve God together, neither one of them did. It was as a result of his death four years later, that she returned to the Lord and have been serving Him faithfully ever since.

It was in 1996 that Penny began her discipleship training and her eyes were opened to the realization that there was more to being a Christian than saying the sinner’s prayer. During this time of discipleship, Penny was challenged to write down the vision for her life in God and is pleased to acknowledge that she continues to live out that vision and is ecstatic that God has expanded it in so many ways but the foundational aspects of her vision remains the same.

In 1998, Penny discovered a love for jail, detention, halfway house and prison ministry and became deeply involved in serving in the facilities and eventually was trained to preach the Gospel in these institutions. Her gift for leadership development and team-building was very quickly identified by the Prison Ministry Pastor at Heritage Christian Center and she was promoted to Trainer and Programs Coordinator for the prisons and halfway houses. Other areas of benevolence and compassion Penny became involved in and discovered a love for were Nursing Home and Street Ministry to the Homeless and Evangelism ministry. As her love for Jesus grew, so did her love for the poor, the elderly, the sick, the widow and the orphan, the invisible and those in prison. She has also been on numerous short-term missions’ trips to Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Cuba, and Israel and in various places in the United States.

In 2000, Penny had a life-changing journey to the Land of Israel and upon returning home she knew there had to be more in her religious experience and walk with God than what she had been experiencing. It was in June of 2000, that she walked into a Messianic Congregation and realized she was finally in a place that addressed her Old Testament questions and knew she was home. The last Saturday of 2001, Penny visited The Harvest, when it was located on South Platte River Drive and felt like she got a release to make The Harvest her new church home. Penny was instructed to observe and learn under the Harvest leadership for nearly a year and took membership in September of 2002 and immediately began getting involved in the community life of the Harvest. Her introduction to higher levels of leadership came in the fall of 2004, when she enrolled in The Leadership Training School Phase 1, graduating at the top of her class. In 2005, Penny became an instructor of Outreach and Evangelism for the Phase 2 students where she opened up doors of opportunity for students to nursing home, street, prison and halfway house ministries, as well as outreach to the homeless. During the spring of 2006, Penny was asked to consider the Dean of Women of the Leadership Training School position. She accepted the position and served as Dean of Women from fall 2006 to fall 2008.

In March 2009 doors for HIV/AIDS ministry was opened for Penny and as a result she has been nationally certified as a Trainer, Instructor, Educator and Facilitator around HIV/AIDS issues locally and nationally.

In June 2009, Penny became Director of Prayer and Ministry at the Harvest and has the opportunity to train others to minister cohesively in a prayer team setting.

Penny was licensed as an Associate Minister of Outreach at the Harvest in September 2009.

Penny lives in Downtown Denver and has a 32 year old stepdaughter who lives in Jersey City, NJ
