B’nei Mitzvah Program

Children in the B'nei Mitzvah Program.

“These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.”
Deuteronomy 6:6,7

The Kehilat T’nuvah Children’s Messianic Education and B’nei Mitzvah Program is a 3-year religious school designed to provide a strong Messianic foundation for children between the ages of 8 and 13. The goal of the program is to equip students with the skills needed to develop and mature as knowledgeable and responsible Talmidim (Disciples) of Yeshua.

Messianic Education (10-12 years old)
The Children’s Messianic Education Program is a 2-year school that is divided into 6, 14-week classes. It is primarily designed to be an introduction to the Messianic lifestyle for children entering adulthood. It is assumed that the students have been brought up in a Messianic home and have had some familiarity with Messianic Judaism. Home school families can incorporate this program with their children’s weekly activities. It is the hope of Kehilat T’nuvah that these classes will serve as a springboard to help launch the student into his or her own walk of faith.

B’nei Mitzvah Preparation (12-13 years old)
The B’nei Mitzvah Preparation is a 1-year program divided into 3, 14-week sessions. This year of preparation is also a time for the student make up any classes that were missed in previous triads. The majority of this time will be dedicated to individual study. The students will concentrate on the Torah Portion of their birth and prepare for their Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony. Students will also participate in meetings with peers and parents to discuss topics such as personal devotions, modesty, dating and courtship.

Students don't have a Bar or Bat Mitzvah but rather, become Bar or Bat Mitzvah. The student becomes a responsible adult and Talmid of Messiah, Yeshua. The student now has the privilege of entering into the awe-inspiring world of Torah study, exploring the mysteries of the texts and ideas that have sustained the Jewish people for millennia.

The Bar or Bat Mitzvah is not the end of the journey, it is the beginning.
